Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon, god and creator of the chromatics, has been spending the past 20 years collecting orphaned wyrmlings. The wyrmlings were typically orphaned because something killed its parents. Whether it was another dragon, humanoids, giants, animals, well, that varies, but each dragon here remembers little to none of it's parents.
What at first seemed to be a kind hearted gesture soon became a plan. A plan the great god had set into motion. The young have not yet been told what the plan is as they are awaiting for their companions to arrive. Once they are together Bahamut will instruct them further.
Some of the young think that Bahamut's plan involves spreading the knowledge of dragons, others think it's revenge for their parents, some even think that they are to spread the message to go into hiding so that the gods can purge the world.
The world outside Bahamut's lair: The world is similar to earth. Climates and regions ranging from dry and hot to wet and frigid. There are various races of humanoids and many, many species of animals, including magical beasts, elementals, and oozes. Summoning demons and devils, even the prayers for angels still exist. Constructs are a bit more common, mostly due to the increase in technology.
There has been a lessening of magic in the world as more and more engineered items have come into play. The gnomes and dwarves have worked vigorously together for years to find better ways to use stones and ore. The humans have taken an interest in this engineering. They quickly pick up on how to use it and master it. While the elves have started to hide from this technology. They view it as unnatural and believe its just the beginning of times to end. The halflings are finding use in the engineering. It's made their thieving tendencies a bit easier. They have profited. Even the half-orcs have profited from the engineering. It's created better war machines and devices. Some of the humanoid races are fear the technology and pray daily for their gods to intervene, but they fear their gods have stopped listening.
Back at the lair: The young are becoming more and more restless awaiting for Bahamut to reveal their purpose.
Will you do as your god requests? Of course you will. Otherwise there is no point even trying to play this campaign. keke!
This is more or less what Bahamut looks like. More less than less more.

Rhinli started her morning like most every morning. She awoke, stretched then started to tend to who her younger companions. She had gotten into the habit of waking them up and getting them ready for breakfast a few years ago. It was lonely being the only one awake for a few hours, so she decided to put them on her schedule so she would have others to joke with, tease, and play with.
Playing with Bahamut was usually not fun. He'd sit for hours looking down through the clouds watching his children on the planet. This morning proved to be like all other mornings so far. Rhinli flitted over to Bahamut's side. She was one of the older wyrmlings in the clutch.
"Papa? What's for breakfast? The others are awake now."
=============================================
Rhinli had started calling Bahamut, Papa and he rather enjoyed it. It had been so long since he was called that. Back in the days when the gods first started to create life. He and Tiamat had worked together hard in creating their race. He watched as the first few dragons were made. Tiamat and Bahamut worked together to raise the children they created. After the other gods made more races, Tiamat was intrigued with how the other races would battle. She was overcome with greed and warfare. She soon created what are now known as the chromatic dragons. The evil dragons. Tiamat's appearance had also altered from the feelings in her heart. She soon took on the shape of one massive dragon with 5 heads. One for each of her chromatic children.
Bahamut had no choice but to react to his love's behavior. The world below started to become twisted. He gathered their original dragons and changed them to what we now call the metallic dragons. They were the chromatics opposite. A balance was brought back to the planet, although the damage between the two gods was irreparable. Tiamat resented Bahamut for his interference. Bahamut was saddened that his mate could be corrupted so easily.
=============================================
Bahamut let out a big sigh, then shook his head, like a dog shaking water off itself.
"Oh. I'm sorry Rhinli. My mind was elsewhere. Breakfast. Yes, let's go make some."
Bahamut got up and stretched himself out. Rhinli was a mere speck next to his gargantuan size. Bahamut though quickly altered himself to a more humanoid form, a dragonkin. He often used this form, especially with new arrivals. He's learned over the years his dragon form was intimidating the the children, while they fear his human form, and many with good reason.
Bahamut walked over to the table to prepare breakfast for all the wyrmlings.
"Let's see... What should we have for breakfast, Rhinli?" "I was thinking of some emperor scorpions, Papa."
Bahamut let out a chuckle. "Yes, that would be normal for you, but what about the rest of them?" "Hrm... well it seems most of the black wyrmlings want fish today, particularly a whale shark is what they were chattering about. The blues were hoping for some camels. The greens were asking for elves again, but would settle for anything. The reds wanted humans as usual, but will settle for anything that has meat. The whites are asking for some more 'pup'sicles. The brass are not being picky this morning. The bronze are requesting shark as well. I've already said what the coppers want." She gave Bahamut a toothy grin. "The golds have asked for more pearls. The silvers asked for some fillet mignon and creme de 'bulette'. As usual the amethysts, crystals, and emeralds have no preference. Anything will do. I say we give them something different today. How about some 'magmin'? They can practice hunting with those little buggers." Rhinli chuckled again. "The sapphire are requesting 'driders'. And the topaz want 'krakken'."
Bahamut thought for a moment. "I think we can let the greens have some elves today. Drow to be particular. They've been creating a lot of ruckus above ground lately, disturbing the lesser dragons. The reds...they will get drow as well today." Bahamut smiled. "Give me about 30 minutes to gather everything up and I will have breakfast set up."
"Ok Papa," said Rhinli as she trotted back to the rest of the wyrmlings, looking for some to joke with, or play a prank if she can't get them to talk.
=============================================
Short lesson in dragon cuisine.
Black dragons like fish, mollusks, and aquatic creatures.
Blue dragons love to eat camel, but will eat snakes, lizards and desert plants.
Green dragons favor elves and sprites, but will eat anything.
Red dragons are meat eaters. They favor humans and young elves.
White dragons eat anything, but it must be frozen solid. Hence 'pup'sicles.
Brass dragons eat almost anything if needed, but usually they eat very little. They get most their nourishment from morning dew.
Bronze dragons eat aquatic plants and some varieties of seafood. They especially love shark meat and will eat the occasional pearl.
Copper dragons love to hunt their food. The prize monstrous scorpions and other large poisonous creatures. They can ingest the poison with no harm, but should they be stung with the poison, it still will affect them normally.
Gold dragons sustain themselves on pearls or small gems.
Silver dragons have a taste for human cuisine. Creme de bulette is a play on words. Creme brulee is what was played. Bulette are huge magical beasts. Imagine a great white shark with legs. That's about what they look like and are just as vicious.
Amethyst, Crystal and Emerald dragons don't have a favorite food. Anything elemental will do. A magmin is a small fire elemental. Looks like a flaming gnome to put it best.
Sapphire dragons love monstrous spiders. Driders are drow (dark elves) who failed to pass a test set forth by their goddess. They are turned into driders. Half spider, half dark elf. Always ugly.
Topaz dragons love sharks and giant squid. I hope you all know what Krakken is. _________________ Sarcasm, just one more service that I offer.
Zotasu froze, only his tail quivering slightly. He had no idea where he was, or how he had come to be in this cavernous room. His thoughts trailed back to the cell he had been sitting in, sleeping in the cramped area his captors had set aside for his storage. The bright light during the night was only just registering, when it had occurred it had failed to pierce his dreamy state, and it was only now that he realized it was probably important.
With a grimace Zotasu realized he must be slipping. He had managed to stay alive this long without his parents or any family only because he was quick, and no one had managed to catch him. Or, if they did, they couldn’t keep him for long. The problem was though, that once you’ve escaped from a group enough times, they start to wise up. Zotasu feared that the bright light had been some sort of tranquilizer magic, and they had moved him here while he had been out cold. Odd though, he didn’t feel like he’d been knocked out, only like he’d been sleeping.
Determined to make the best of the situation the emerald dragon stood, stretched out, and began examining the room.
((Ginpu, I’m not exactly sure how the room is set up. Also, I don’t know how I’m supposed to use my skills… so, uh… Gather Information, I choose you!)) _________________
((LOL, skills are just a way of how successful you are at interacting with others mostly. In this case survival or knowledge dungeoneering, would be most likely to assist you. But it's ok. I don't expect everyone to understand it all at once. keke))
==============================================
A chiming bell grabbed Rhinli's attention as she headed back to the nest. "Oh? Papa's brought another one. Wonder what kind this one is. Hopefully they are fun," she said as the proverbial devil horns appeared from her crest.
Rhinli took flight and headed towards the reception room. This is where the new orphans were brought in. As Rhinli flew towards the reception room, she looked around at the home. It was a nice one. Not what she was used to, but nice.
Bahamut had peculiar taste. While most dragons make their homes in caves, be them underground or above, Bahamut didn't. His lair was very close to that an established gold dragon would use. It was very similar to a humanoid dwelling. It was built into the side of a cliff. There was a glass observation room that jutted out past the cliff face. This room was entirely glass, the walls, the ceiling and floor. It was decorated with some fine chairs and low tables. On the tables were a few books and even some candy dishes filled with gems. You could easily see the river than ran below the room.
The next room was the banquet hall. It had 3 long tables in it. Each table was lined with chairs that would accommodate any being that chose to use it. Each chair was magical and easily changed to suit its visitor.
From the banquet hall was the main hall. Rooms branched from the main hall. The first left doorway was the resting chamber. This is where the wyrmlings were nested, the floor was lined with gems and coins of all types and sizes. Each of the wyrmlings made their own little designated areas to sleep in here. There were even bolts of cloth, such as silk and cotton. These were helpful in the wintertime. Not every dragon is comfortable in the cold.
The next room on the left was the storage room. This is where Bahamut would keep food and supplies. Pretty much anything you need is found in here.
The next room was the fresh water cistern. This was how fresh water was supplied to the dwelling.
Starting at the banquet hall, the first right door was the kitchen. Food was prepared here. It was lined with cabinets and shelves of all sorts of food. Anything anyone would want was possible.
The next room is the rest room. It has several rest rooms in it. Showers, toilets, baths, and sinks were found here. Bahamut didn't just have the wyrmlings here. He was often visited by several races of humanoids and other gods.
The next room was the study. The walls were lined with books of every imaginable type in any language one would need. Bahamut used it like a classroom to teach the wyrmlings about dragons in general, their particular color and the world around them.
Back to the main hall, you follow it through the entry halls before reaching a security door. Passing this door required a password and it had to be spoken properly in draconic. Rhinli approached the door and spoke the words. The door opened briefly allowing her small body enough time to jump through.
Rhinli headed down the hallway towards the reception room. As she got closer to the room she flew closer to the ceiling and reached out a foot to touch it. She then flipped her self upside down and continued walking on the ceiling to the reception room.
As she passed through the doorway she was able to see what was waiting here. A very young emerald dragon was waiting in the room. It looked scared, and Rhinli could understand that feeling. She too once felt that way.
She circled around on the ceiling. Thinking and studying the dragon's movements.
============================================
((Zotasu has alertness which increases his ability to spot Rhinli. Chances are he's heard her walking on the ceiling. She's made no attempts to move silently. Instead of her dive bombing him from above, I am giving him the option to react before her next action. This allows the other person time to do something, and makes it so that one person doesn't control the entire encounter. Be it a fight seen or a simple attempt at hide and seek.)) _________________ Sarcasm, just one more service that I offer.
Zotasu had spotted the dragon when she had entered the room, but he didn’t know what to make of her. She wasn’t as big as he was, but she could still be dangerous. Attempting to be natural about it, Zotasu walked around the outside of the room, attempting to keep as much distance between himself and her as possible while not letting on the fact that he had seen the newcomer. Out of the corner of his eye he watched her approach, and he attempted to determine her motive for being here.
The presence of another dragon could have been a really good thing, but at the same time Zotasu remembered tales of ‘evil’ dragons, ones only interested in fighting and destruction. What he knew about other dragons came from his parents, before they had been… separated when Zotasu was still very young. Considering his situation, Zotasu wasn’t even sure if he would be able to communicate with another dragon. His draconic hadn’t been fully learned, and lack of use meant that his lexicon was severely limited. Instead, whenever he needed to speak with other beings, he used the bits and pieces of the human and Elven languages he had learned. Hopefully this wouldn’t cause a problem with whoever had brought him here. _________________
Rhinli peered down at her new companion. This one might be a bit of fun, she thought to herself. Without anymore hesitation she let go of the ceiling, rolled over in mid air then dove down towards the slightly bigger dragon. While she soared down she squealed in delight. Her aim was to tackle him and welcome him. Now, if she could just be successful. There have been some in the past that have avoided her. Though she felt good about taking this chance.

When the other dragon leapt into motion, Zotasu considered dodging, but he recognized that her intentions were friendly… more or less. Since she didn’t seem large enough to do any serious damage, and he wanted to make sure he didn’t alienate someone who meant him no harm, Zotasu decided to simply brace himself for impact. He lowered his head, folded his wings, and waited. _________________
((Thought I would include a dragonkin image so you have an idea what form Bahamut is currently in. I like images, they help A LOT!))
==============================================
Rhinli's dive bomb made contact with the newcomer. However, even though she's done this many times, this was one of her messier attempts. She didn't take into the consideration of how dead weight the newcomer made himself. Instead of landing on him and tumbling on the ground with him, she crashed into him, which caused her to tumble off him, right towards the wall. She closed her eyes and rolled into a ball hoping to lessen the miscalculated blow. She hit the floor and rolled straight into the wall.
When she ceased moving she tried to straighten herself out but things didn't look right. The new dragon was upside down. "Well how did you do that one?" she asked outloud. It was only then that she realized she was resting on her shoulders on the floor while her hind legs and tail were above her. She looked quite goofy and confused for the moment.
When she realized what was wrong she released her self from the wall. ((spider climb is always active, and this stuff is prone to happen.)) She straightened herself out and walked to the dragon.
""Hi! I'm Rhinli. Welcome to your new home. You are just in time for breakfast. Come with me. Most the other emeralds are awaiting some magmin that Papa went to fetch. You'll like Papa. He's really nice. Come with me." She started to trot to towards the secret door and motioned for the new dragon to follow her. _________________ Sarcasm, just one more service that I offer.
"Ah... Rhinli," he echoed before starting to follow her. Fortunately he had managed to understand most of what she had said, even if he had failed to comprehend what she meant. "'New home'?" Zotasu increased his speed so he could catch up with her. "This... this where to live for now on? I do- er... I will?" With an annoyed look he admitted quietly. "Apologize, speaking of Dragons... I do not so well- know it, so well. I am but Zotasu, and I have met you happily."
The truth was though, despite his attempts at politeness, Zotasu was very much confused. He had been spirited away from his captors, he understood that and appreciated it, but these new dragons... did they intend to keep him here. On the other side, he considered that perhaps meeting some other dragons might not be such a bad thing. Rhinli, although overly energetic, seemed nice enough, and being able to stay with his own kind would be... well, it would certainly be interesting. Zotasu decided to observe carefully before he came to any conclusions. _________________
"Here we go," Rhinli said as she stopped in front of a solid wall. "It's ok if your draconic is rusty. Papa is very smart and can help you. Zotasu...that's an interesting name," she smiled.
Rhinli spoke some words and the door opened. "Come through quickly," she said as she leapt through the doorway. "Papa can answer all the questions you have. Breakfast first."
