Bahamut's Plan - Sign up and Rules **READ THOROUGHLY**
Gonna try throwing together something for the weekend. Going to peel some stuff outta my Draconomican here. Proposing a dragon campaign.
I will list the dragons types and their abilities at equal levels. Some dragons will have less abilities, such as a Gold dragon, then a say Copper dragon would have at the same level because the Gold dragon is larger and has a higher level adjustment.
It's basically a little screw around for the weekend. There's only 5 of us around anyways, so why not have a little... fun?
Types to follow. You can put the character sheet here after I make it.
ginpu
Was almost done and it was bugging me that the gold dragon still seemed way more powerful. I see why now. Gotta adjust the other 14 types. DOH!
ginpu
Ok. got it all in typing. Sadly i wasted my whole night so far. damn you persistenceness and need to fullfill the RP desire! *shakes fist at the heavens*
Ahem... anyways. I present you with the following multiple posts to decide which type of dragon and feats/skills you intend to take. That should give me time to create a plot and environment. keke
=========================================
Everything is adjusted for ECL 13. This allows even the largest dragon at least 2 years of age. ECL means Effective Character Level. Hit die and abilities are calculated into figuring out what the level of the character is. I can't explain it very well in a few words. Thankfully the Draconomicon had most of it figured out for me. keke
All dragons are immune to sleep and paralysis effects. All dragons see 4x as well as a human in low light conditions, and twice as well in normal light. Dragons have darkvision up to 100ft. Darkvision is seeing in the dark, but everything is black and white.
Attacks: Bite, the dragon bites the target. The bigger the dragon, the more damage caused by the bite. Claw, the dragon has 2 claw attacks. The bigger the dragon, the more damage caused by the Claw. Dragons of medium size and larger have 2 wing attacks. The bigger the dragon, the more damage caused by the wing attacks.
All dragons have breath weapons. They are unlimited to the amount of times per day they can use it, however, they must wait some time in between using them. For chromatic dragons the timer is set for both weapons regardless of which one is used. They still must wait before using it again, or the other weapon.
HD=Hit Die
I don’t want to work with numbers. Just know that the less HD you have, the less hit points you have. So try and avoid god mode. You will become incapacitated quickly.

Please pay attention to the dragon's alignment. You WILL be working with each other.
There are sometimes exceptions to a dragon's alignment. Sometimes other dragon types may take in a different one's in an attempt to make them good or evil. This is very rare, and I will consult my book to make the final decision. If you have any questions please ask me. Here or PM is fine.
Right. So I need to make a character sheet for you all to copy and fill out.

Description/History: Rhinli was raised by her parents for 8 years before the red dragons successfully eliminated them. As they closed in to finish her off she was quickly swept away in a blinding light, finding herself on a pile of unimaginable wealth. As she wandered about she found several other wyrmlings of all types and even some unhatched eggs. The inhabitant of the lair revealed himself to be Bahamut. Rhinli had heard her parents speak of Bahamut. He was the Platinum Dragon, the good god of dragons and the creator of the metallic dragons. Bahamut told Rhinli that he rescued her as she is part of a greater plan of his, but he needed to wait for the others. While she didn't enjoy waiting for the others to get older or show up, she made the best of her boredom, constantly asking Bahamut riddles, pulling pranks and overall learning about all dragons, including the evil and neutral ones. Bahamut had told her that the time was finally approaching for her and her companions to take flight and work out his plan.
Rhinli patiently awaits the others arrival.

Breath Weapon: 2 types. Line of Acid. Cone of Slow Gas. Target is slowed for some time.

Just to give you a clue. The overall shape is like the bigger picture, but the face is young, and she's only like 3 feet long.
***Edited a skill out since I realized the way I was playing her, she needed to have Knowledge dragonlore and not bluff.

Oh yes, one more thing. Sizes...
I guess I should explain my ideas of sizes, I use DnD since I think it's fair at making sense.
Diminutive = Toad, Mouse, Bat
Tiny = Housecat, Full grown Rat, Hawk, Iguana, Raven, Monkey, Weasel
Small = 50lb dog, Badger, Eagle,
Medium = Baboon, Boar, Donkey, Hyena, Pony, Wolf, Wolverine, Cheetah
Large = Horse, Tiger, Lion, Rhino, Mule, Brown or Polar Bear
Huge = Elephant, Orca
Gargantuan = Whales
FYI - updated the dragon descriptions. Added a pic of each one from the DnD MMv3.5 and MMII
That's Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual V.3.5 and Monster Manual II (2)
Oh yes, silly me.
All dragons know draconic and common.
Good dragons also know elven and celestial.
Evil dragons know undercommon and abyssl.
Neutral dragons know sylvan and typically another (major) race's language. Halfling, Elven, Gnome, Dwarf, or Orc.
Alrighty, here's my dragon. Couldn't think of much of a description/history, so what I have is a bit lame. Anyway, I'm going to a pizza party at one but until then/afterwards I'll be able to RP pretty much all day (crosses fingers). Now we just need the others to sign up...

It has never occurred to him that people don’t like strangers poking around in their business.

As the army of silvers and humans broke through Kalm's parents defenses and into their lair. Both his parents were slain. Kalm hid as they searched for him. If it hadn't been for the keen nose of the spiked Felldrakes employed on this attack, Kalm may have been left unnoticed.
When the Felldrake smelled out Kalm, a great wyrm, known as Nymbryxion, transformed down into a human and pulled Kalm out. Kalm fought tooth and nail and even tried breathing on him, but nothing Kalm did could harm him.
While many of the humans wanted his death, Nymbryxion (Nym) refused it. "He's but a child. It's still possible to help him understand and see the good in the world." This occurred to me last night when I was helping BB with a history for calm.
You'll notice some dragons have an immunity to one element but are vulnerable to another. This isn't in reference to environment. The vulnerability to the other element means you take double damage from that element.
For example: Although a white dragon might prefer the artic, he still can go to the desert and not be damaged by the sun. However if he were to try and walk through a fire, had a fireball shot at him... yeah... that would hurt, and hurt like hell.
Spirit Wolf
Name: Gale
Dragon Type: White
Age: 18.5 young
Size: Medium
Attacks: bite, claw, wing
Type: Cold
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Feats: 1) Agile
2) Athletic
3) Improved Maneuverability
4) Self-Sufficient Skills: 1) hide
2) swim
3) Knowledge- Arcane
4) move silently
5) intimidate
6) Sense motive
Description/History: Gale was with his adopted parents, who saved him as an egg when his real parents died, till he was 18. They were killed by a large group of frost giants. Gale tried to fight them, but didn't succeeed. He was almost captured when a bright light engulfed him. He's friendly for an evil dragon because he was raised by Crystal dragons. He's very good at fighting for someone who hasn't had any training, and will when he wants to. He isn't as dumb as most other white dragons.
Special Abilities: cold immunity, icewalking, vunerability to fire
Breath Weapon: Cone of cold
Additional Information not already listed: Likes to read books when he can, loves the color blue.
ginpu
No. There is no problem, since I suggested it to you. I'll type out what I told you in PMs.
Crystal dragons and White dragons share similar territory, so it is not uncommon for them to cross paths. Crystal dragons have been known to make off with white dragon eggs. Most likely their cause is to try and raise the white to be more friendly then if it were left to be raised by it's original parents.
Alignment, please change to Chaotic Neutral since Crystals raised you.
Toss the weapon feats. None of you have alternate forms. Only Gold and Silver start with that. There really is no way for a dragon to wield weapons aside from simple weapons. Simple weapons are unarmed attacks, gauntlets, daggers, light maces, sickles, clubs, heavy maces, morningstars, short spears, long spears, and quarter staves.
Come to think of it... Salem, feel free to dump simple weapons and pick something else. Dragons have the natural attacks of bite and claw, and have proficiency with them, so wasting a feat on a weapon is silly. I should have realized that sooner.
Just to clarify, Knowledge Arcana is about ancient mysteries, magic traditions, arcane symbols, cryptic phrases, constructs, dragons, magical beasts. It has nothing to do with casting.
His intelligence will be higher thanks to the crystals. I would say it's higher than if he hadn't been raised that way. Whites have an int score of 6. We'll let him have 10. 10 is about average intelligence. Many of the other wyrmlings have the same intelligence score. The smartes being gold and silver at 14 which is still just above average. Super smart is like 18 and genius would be above 20.
For comparison if others are wondering. Reds have 10, Coppers have 12, oh shit... emeralds are at 14. lol...um... right. Topaz are 14 as well. Well, most brats are incredibly smart that's why they are brats. LOL
ginpu
One more thing. Need to work on the history. Humans wouldn't be out killing Crystals for shits and giggles, let alone just 4 of them. hrm... however frost giants could. Though I think 2 more would need to be added. Dragons are not weak when they are that old. Frost giants have made alliances with white dragons. So I don't think they would have attacked Gale just because he was there. If anything they may have been sent to retrieve him or they intended to use him as a pet. Like a hunting dog.
This is why I suggested PMing me instead. LOL
Oh yeah. His he's really good at fighting... I would say he's capable. not really good. He has no class levels yet, so he hasn't been trained in anything as of yet.
Yes, the tad bit mean is expected. But mean does not equal evil. Evenone has mean streaks and can still be good people. LOL
Description/History: Silver dragons are regal and statuesque. They cheerfully assist good creatures that are in genuine need and often take the forms of kindly old men or fair damsels when associating with humans.
A smooth shiny plate forms the dragon’s face. It has a frill that rises high over its head and continues down the neck and back to the tip of the tail. Long spines with dark tips support the frill. It has two smooth, shiny horns, and wings that are wide and sleek. The dragon has the scent of rain, and its scales gleam like liquid metal.
Special Abilities: Alternate Form (animal or humanoid form of medium size or smaller 3/day), Immunity to Acid and Cold, Cloudwalking (Can tread on clouds or fog as though on solid ground), Vulnerability to Fire
Breath Weapon: 2 types. Cone of Cold. Cone of Paralyzing Gas. Target is paralyzed for some time.
ginpu
Not too late, not everyone has met everyone else yet, so I can't send anyone off on a mission until they've met each other and interacted a bit. Sending them on a mission together could be disastrous other wise, and I don't think that is what Bahamut would want. LOL
Need a little history, story wise. Make sure Jump is in your skill list since it is innate. That and I am likely to forget.
Name is?
History as you can tell is basically how you became an orphan. After I look that over you should be good to go.
BlackBlade
Sliver, eh this is going to be fun. and painful...... Kidding I not sure how Kalm will react
ginpu
No no. you still get 6 skills total. 5 you pick, 1 innate. I just wanted you to put it down so I wouldn't forget. LOL
Oh yeah, and speak language, means you have to pick another language you want to speak. I've already given all good dragons draconic, celestial and common. You can pick a 4th, or pick a different skill.
(Sorry I am late getting back to this. I ate too many pumpkin seeds and had some digestive problems.)
Demecas
ok fixed I hope let me know if i can start playing trying too>
ginpu
Looks good. Hrm...
K. Let's think of how Rien gets to Bahamut's house... Queue jeopardy music...
I'll PM you really quick with 2 ideas. Modify if you want. I am just passing the point of passing out time. LOL
Spirit Wolf
Ginpu, did you forget about me???
ginpu
Christ almighty. I'm but one person. Hold you frickin horses. Crap. I should pull this on you guys once in a while.
Demecas
-Smacks Godhand with the spoon knocking him into the wall- Just cause your an admin doesn't mean you get to disregard the rules.
Infact as an admin You have to follow them to the T. now apologies to Ginpu.
Common curtsy.
I'm very sorry about that Ginpu and everyone else.
ginpu
It's ok. Hence the face. I know I read his post. But must have forgotten as I responded to the other 2. I had other things on my mind, like what pumpkin seeds can do to your large intestine and further down the line. I was dancing in my chair trying to respond as quickly as I could.
Dr. Salem
I heard Pumpkin's grow in your intestinal tract... my mommy said thats what happened to Mr. Snuggles...
Spirit Wolf
Sorry. And you, demecas, have broken the rules before too, so neya!
ginpu
Dr. Salem wrote:

Funny you should say that... That's what my second strip was about. Well, its how it started. I cry looking at the work though.
Shaky lines, ingrown shoulders. ew.... One arm bigger than the other...
ginpu
Little clarification I made on a post in the RP itself.
When we level, I will present everyone with the options to take on a class level. Taking on a class will allow you to further customize the dragon. I will not list any classes yet, as no one is leveling anytime soon. When we do get class levels we also may gain additional dragon skills, depending on the dragon type. Some may get bigger in size this level and gain a new power, some may not grown bigger and but still gain a new power, and some, most likely the largers like red and silver, will gain more hit points, but not much else than that from the dragon heritage. But they will gain it, everyone will. It just may not be at the same time.
The gem dragons will be given the options to take psionic class levels, as they are psionic creatures, they just can't do much with that power yet, if anything, aside from the type of breath weapon they have.
I haven't decided completely on the classes so don't even ask.
When class levels are gained, you will be introduced to new feats and skills. Having an offensive and defensive stance will be possible then. Right now, you are just learning how to be a dragon, and how to work with other dragons.
Dr. Salem
ginpu wrote:

Alec's failing at that miserably.
Spirit Wolf
Gale just got there, and is already attacked by Alec.
ginpu
I gave you all options on how you ended up there. You could have already established yourselves there a long time ago.
Dr. Salem
You ate his chair and he's an immature little brat!
Spirit Wolf
And if my attack succeeds, he'll have a huge headache to boot.
ginpu
If your attack succeeds yes.
However the size difference and the feats Alec took are going to make it hard for you to Suceed.
Also since you are attacking with your tail, Gale will fail, and more than likely, miserably. Your natural attacks are Bite, 2 Claws and 2 wing buffets. Tail isn't for another size category or two. And no, you can't change that now.
Attacking with something that is not in your list of attacks, puts you at a disadvantage.
Spirit Wolf
I knew that when I did it.
Dr. Salem
I chose good skills than, didn't I for the character I made?
ginpu
Agile and Dodge make it easier to avoid the attack. Being of small size makes you harder to hit for someone of medium or larger size. Gale using an untrained attack secures your victory.
Dr. Salem
Still, he hit his head on a table leg due to his own stupidity.
Spirit Wolf
And Gale returns to his meal.
Did I misspell overzelas? I'll look it up.
Yes I did, it's overzelous
Durandal
Still wrong, it's overzealous. And I didn't even look it up.
Hmm, maybe I shouldn't have chosen emerald as my dragon type. According to the description they are very paranoid and don't like to make friends. Kinda puts me in a tough spot as to what I can have my character do...
Well, just get me when you need me. He'll definitely participate in any group activities if invited, but otherwise he won't join.
Now now Salem. That would just make sense. And we make none of that here.
keke
BTW, back early.
Dr. Salem
All I can say is "Ow", I'm caught in a trail of horrible stair-caused pain.
ginpu
Here's a size chart to show you sizes.
Tiny, Small, Medium, Large, Huge, Gargantuan and well... colossal isn't on there, but it's even bigger than Gargantuan.
If you are wondering what the things are in the picture: Cat, Halfling, Human, Ogre, Giant, Purple Worm (yeah, creative) and an Ancient or Wyrm Red Dragon.
ginpu
Ok. The first day has ended, and for the most point I am disappointed.
Everyone is being a loner. Knock off this loner shit, this is a message for everyone. What freaking point is there to RPing with other people if you all keep being emo loners???
Now for Demecas, I am starting to think you shouldn't have gone with a silver dragon. The way she's been played so far is uncharacteristic of a silver. Perhaps you may want to look over the other types and change your color.
Spirit Wolf
I'm trying to be friendly, it's just everyones asleep, and he's getting aquainted with the place, you know, finding out where everything is and all that.
ginpu
It's a generalized statement GH. I don't feel like pointing fingers at the moment, i think doing so would make others not so self conscious about if they are doing loners and then they become loners themselves. It's called prevention.
I'll make it morning shortly. Gotta do some work first.
Demecas
I have no problem playing to my chars personality. the thing is you only gave a short personality for them. I have no idea how any of them are really suppose to act. only you really do. from what I can gather a Silver is very proud and reliant. but thats it. it doesn't say weather a silver is good in groups or purfur's to be alone.
Only you know exactly what each dragon's personality is suppose to be like we are just guessing. if you wish for us to change it to the right way please give us a little more guidance instead of getting annoyed.
To many of us playing a dragon is new. at least the way you expect us to play it.
Do dragons just ignore the bad things in their past when associating with other dragons? do they follow their primal in stinks more then acting the way a humanoid would when bothered about things? Do our backgrounds even matter to their personalities?
These are things we need to know if we are to play these chars the way you wish we do. So far all i know are. I'm wrong according to you and.
Silver dragons are regal and statuesque. They cheerfully assist good creatures that are in genuine need and often take the forms of kindly old men or fair damsels when associating with humans.
That does not give me a clear picture on how to play the dragon.
Dr. Salem
This RP is making my favorite color change from blue to purple.
ginpu
Pasting this link for you all so that you can take your time and read more about your specific dragon without buying the book for $30-$45.
http://dnd.columbusgaming.com/books/Rules/
Monster Manual is where you will find the metallic and chromatic. Draconomicon also contains those dragons. The gem dragons are in Monster Manual II.
You'll have to search the list though. some books were only printed in 3e (3rd edition) while others were fixed and called 3.5E (3.5 edition). But just reading about the sample dragons in the back of the draconomicon should help chromatics and metallics understand their dragons.
I shall copy and paste.
========================================
Alignments
Any person, creature, deity or extraplanar realm in Dungeons & Dragons can have one of the nine alignments.
Lawful Good
Lawful Good is known as the "Saintly" or "Crusader" alignment. A lawful good character typically acts with compassion, and always with honour and a sense of duty. A lawful good nation would consist of a well-organized government that works for the benefit of its citizens. Lawful good characters include righteous knights, all paladins and most dwarves. Lawful good creatures include the noble golden dragons.
Lawful Good characters, especially paladins, may sometimes find themselves faced with the dilemma of whether to obey Law or Good when the two conflict - for example, upholding a sworn oath when it would lead innocents to come to harm - or conflicts between two orders, such as between their religious law and the law of the local ruler.
Neutral Good
Neutral Good is known as the "Benefactor" alignment. A neutral good character is guided by his conscience and typically acts altruistically, without regard for or against Lawful precepts such as rules or tradition. A doctor that treats soldiers from both sides in a war would be considered Neutral Good. Examples of neutral good creatures include the Guardinals, a type of celestial.
Chaotic Good
Chaotic Good is known as the "Beatific" or "Rebel" alignment. A chaotic good character favours change for the greater good, disdains bureaucratic organizations that get in the way of social improvement, and places a high value on personal freedom. Most elves are chaotic good, as are some fey.
Robin Hood is commonly cited as an example of a Chaotic Good character, since he fought against tradition, established authority and existing social structure, for the greater benefit of the people.
Lawful Neutral
Lawful Neutral is called the "Judge" or "Disciplined" alignment. A lawful neutral character typically believes strongly in Lawful concepts such as honour, order, rules and tradition, and often follows a personal code. A Lawful Neutral society would typically enforce strict laws to maintain social order, and place a high value on traditions and historical precedent. Examples of Lawful Neutral characters include a soldier who always follows orders, a judge or enforcer that adheres mercilessly to the word of the law, and a disciplined monk. Lawful Neutral creatures also include the Modrons, a strict hierarchy of incredible extraplanar constructs who embody the very concept of order.
Characters of this alignment are neutral with regard to Good and Evil. This does not mean that Lawful Neutral characters are amoral or immoral, or do not have a moral compass; but simply that their moral considerations come a distant second to what their code, tradition or law dictates. They typically have a strong ethical code, but it is primarily guided by their system of belief, not by a commitment to Good or Evil.
Neutral
Neutral alignment, also referred to as True Neutral, is called the "Undecided" or "Nature's" alignment. This alignment represents neutral on both axes, and tends not to feel strongly towards any alignment. A farmer whose only concern is to feed his family is of this alignment. Most animals, lacking the capacity for moral judgement, are of this alignment.
Some neutral characters, rather than feeling undecided, are committed to a balance between the alignments. They may see Good, Evil, Law and Chaos as simply prejudices and dangerous extremes. Mordenkainen is one such character who takes this concept to the extreme, dedicating himself to a detached philosophy of neutrality to ensure that no one alignment or power takes control of the Flaeness.
Druids frequently follow this True Neutral dedication to balance, and under Advanced Dungeons & Dragons rules were required to be this alignment. In an example given in a D&D rulebook, a typical druid might fight against a band of marauding gnolls, only to switch sides to save the gnoll's clan from being exterminated.
Chaotic Neutral
Chaotic Neutral is called the "Anarchist" or "Free Spirit" alignment. A character of this alignment is an individualist who follows his own heart, shirks rules and traditions. They typically act out of self-interest, but do not enjoy seeing others suffer. Many adventurers are of this alignment.
An unusual subset of Chaotic Neutral is "strongly Chaotic Neutral", describing a character who behaves chaotically to the point of appearing insane. Characters of this type may regularly change their appearance and attitudes for the sake of change, and intentionally disrupt organizations for the sole reason of disrupting a Lawful construct. Characters of this type include the Xaositects from the Planescape setting, and Hennet from the third edition Player's Handbook. In Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Chaotic Neutral was frequently assumed to refer to this subset.
Lawful Evil
Lawful Evil is referred to as the "Dominator" or "Diabolic" alignment. Characters of this alignment show a combination of desirable and undesirable traits: while they typically obey their superiors and keep their word, they care nothing for the rights and freedoms of other individuals. Examples of this alignment include tyrants, devils, organized criminals, and soldiers who follow the chain of command but enjoy killing for its own sake.
The game rules devote the most detail to this alignment, since it frequently creates interesting mastermind villains:
He is loath to break laws or promises. This reluctance comes partly from his nature and partly because he depends on order to protect himself from those who oppose him on moral grounds. Some lawful evil villains have particular taboos, such as not killing in cold blood (but having underlings do it) or not letting children come to harm (if it can be helped). They imagine that these compunctions put them above unprincipled villains.
Neutral Evil
Neutral Evil is called the "Malefactor" alignment. Characters of this alignment are typically selfish and have no qualms about turning on their allies-of-the-moment. They have no compunctions about harming others to get what they want, but neither will they go out of their way to cause carnage or mayhem when they see no direct benefit to it. A villain of this alignment can be more dangerous than either Lawful or Chaotic Evil characters, since he is neither bound by any sort of honour or tradition nor disorganised and pointlessly violent. Examples of Neutral Evil characters and creatures include assassins-for-hire, abject sadists and yugoloths.
Chaotic Evil
Chaotic Evil is referred to as the "Destroyer" or "Demoniac" alignment. Characters of this alignment tend to have little respect for rules, other peoples' lives, or anything but their own selfish desires. They typically only behave themselves out of fear of punishment. Examples of Chaotic Evil creatures are demons, werewolves, the dangerous and powerful red dragons, and the brutal orcs.
A famous Chaotic Evil character is Belkar Bitterleaf (of order of the stick). Black Mage from 8-Bit Theatre can also be thought to be Chaotic Evil.
========================================
Q: Can I change my dragon's alignment?
A: According to the Monster Manual the answer is NO. The dragon's alignment is noted as ALWAYS <algnment>. The only exception was to Gale due to a stipulation found in MMII on the crystal dragons.
========================================
Please download and read the files. I can't type out everything right now, and the PDF's are images, so I can't select and copy the text from them.
If you do not have hi-speed internet, let me know, via PM and I will see what I can do for you.
Dr. Salem
I haven't been playing Alec according to his alignment, he's not supposed to enjoy the suffering of others... does ticking off people count towards suffering?
ginpu
I don't think ticking people off is causing them the kind of suffering being spoken about. I think suffering is like how Demecas and Nozz are in Irallia, how Gilliam now is, even Ronald and his disease. That is the kind of suffering I would say chaotic neutral refers to. Flipping someone off or calling them a name couldn't be causing suffer, unless you were on their shoulder 24/7 talking them down into nothingness.
On a side note. Everyone should try and read up to Page 36 in Draconomicon. Gives you a good idea for society etc. 36-56 are the chromatics and metallics in more depth. Well for some it's more depth. Like the copper is word for word from the Monster Manual, however Red and Silver has a lot more information in it, while white has the same.
ginpu
And this is where I insert apology.
Been off all week, though that will end shortly. I'm sore, and getting sick now. I think I need to immerse myself in a little warcraft where I can just kill shit non-stop. LOL
I get cranky when I feel like shit. Sorry.
Dr. Salem
Should I prank Bahamut? The guy left too big of an opening.
I'm in a creative slump, I don't know what prank to use. Wait, I'm acting like a copper I think... grrr.
ginpu
Bound to happen when a copper never leaves you alone.
Durandal
Okay, first off: *hugs Ginpu*
I'm sorry you feel so bad. Don't worry, we don't mind if you vent a bit.
Second: Sorry I haven't posted yet. Conflicting duties and errands to run all day have kept me away, and now that I've finally finished writing thank-you letters to people who sent me graduation gifts I can focus on what's truly importan in life: forum-based RPs.
Third: How am I doing playing the paranoid dragon? My dragon type kinda sets me up to be a loner, unfortunately. I'll just have to make him spend more time with Rhinli... or if someone would force him to talk to them for a while he might get to know them better.
Other than that: I'll look at the resources you've provided when I get a chance, Ginpu. Which may be sooner or may be later. I'm not sure. But thanks all the same for providing them; they're always helpful.
ginpu
The sad part is I actually paid for most the core books on that list of books. It's easier for me to flip through the book, I have em, sadly, mostly memorized.
If you think you may have a problem with emerald, you can request to change type. I'm still allowing those requests until we actually head out on said adventure. I want everyone to be comfortable and familiar with their character. Nothing worse then sending unprepared victims, er um.. players to the salivating maws of the tarrasque on their first adventure and watch them fail miserably.
Durandal
Thank you, but no, I'll keep my emeraldity. I like the alignment, the appearance, and the characteristics. Paranoia can be worked through. He just needs some more time, that's all.
Dr. Salem
I need a prank where I ca get the resources quickly and quietly with out leaving the room.
I could try and find a perverted magazine and stick it on Bahamut out in the open somewhere... It is a study full of literature if I am correct... even ones with pictures.
ginpu
It would be full of all types of literature. He is a lonely old dragon after all. LOL
But I dunno what you chances would be finding something of perversion. There are wards made to stop underage dragons from accessing stuff. Good thing I didn't make this like Dragonlance. Trying to open a magic book of a magic you may not understand, or doesn't belong to you, can make you go crazy, or simply die.
Aside from books, you are likely to find antiques of all sorts, perhaps some bottles with specimens in them.
Although I can't help you as the GM to come up with a plan, and Rhinli would probably offer no assistance. If there is one dragon she won't prank, its him.
You can however ask me if such an item is found somewhere within the dwelling. I'll answer that easily. But I won't help with the prank. Even though it's tempting.
Dr. Salem
Alec doesn't need to access it, just touch it so he can move it from one place to another.
Drawing a mustache on Bahamuts face is just not Alec's style, it's so lame. So is the bucket dropping on the head and flaming bag of poo. Maybe I should try something Home Alone style... with sticky substances, hard objects, and fire.
Wait, a tape recorder! Bahamut walks in the Banquet Hall and a "Me so horny" comes from one of his pockets. I believe technology has advanced to Tape recorders at least? No... lame.
The naughty magazine is the only non-lame one I can think of that doesn't involve pain. I just need a roll of sticky tape and a bad magazine.
ginpu
... how about googling a good prank?
Dr. Salem
Wow, the internet is full of bad pranks. I looked at at least 20 of them and they're all bad and not something Alec would/could do.
What if I put something down his pants like a mouse or something (That picture you posted of him in his dragonkin form looked like he had pants on I think)?
I have no hope.
Demecas
why not just do the whole cream in the hand tickle the nose thing?
Dr. Salem
Instead of cream it should be a scorpion from breakfast.
ginpu
*sigh*
Ah. The boyfriend is home. Lemme ask him. he's a prankster.
He said Hotfoot, you know, matches in the toes
Or the telescope thing where you put ink at the end and fool someone into looking into it as well, end result, they have a black ring around their eye.
Think Tom and Jerry, bugs bunny... please tell me you are old enough to remember those. LOL
Dr. Salem
I want those classics back darnit.
I got it! Mouse traps below the feet! Please tell me Bahamut has mouse traps in case of an emergency.
BlackBlade
Why would there be mice if dragons are around. ....................... well they all aren't meat eaters
ginpu
I say no more. I already broke my vow of not giving you any ideas. *cry*
Demecas
you said your char isn't one to do mean pranks stuff like a living scorpian and mouse traps is a bit cruel. that is why I said cream in the paw and tickle the nose. it's not crew. if you want go with chocolate syrup.
Dr. Salem
Fine, Alec will just "accidentally" find some Mouse Traps in a storage Closet nearby. He might need Mouse Traps because they're the most successful means of catching a mouse other than a cat.
Do all dragons get a alternate form eventually?
Demecas
you so should have been a copper yourself.
Dr. Salem
Then I wouldn't not chaotic neutral. Alec doesn't enjoy the suffering of others and mouse traps are not cruel to a big god like Bahamut... should I even prank a god?
Wow, when I die and go to heaven I'm gonna put lipstick on god when he's asleep.
ginpu
Um... no.
They do eventually gain levels of magic like a sorcerer and can choose to use alter self and polymorph spells then.
Though... lemme get back to you on that, but I am pretty sure I am right.
ginpu
Bronze get an alternate form at the young age category. which is roughly 5 dragon levels from now.
Gold and silver start with it right outta the egg.
no on the chromatics and gems.
there are other dragons I left out due to too many options. They are the dragons of Faerun and can be found in the Draconomicon PDF.
Alternate form isn't always human, it's the dragon's choice
The fang dragon which gets no breath weapon, lacks alternate form.
(i love fang dragons too)
Faerie dragon, no alt form
shadow dragon, no alt form
brown dragon, no alt form
deep dragon, no alt form (but gets a snake & human form)
song dragon gets alt form, but always chooses a human female and the same one every time.
There is another category called Planar dragons
Battle Dragon, no alt form
chaos dragon, no alt form
ethereal dragon, no alt form
howling dragon, no alt form
oceanic dragon, no alt form
pyroclastic dragon, no alt form
radiant dragon, no alt form
rust dragon, no alt form
styx dragon, no alt form
tarterian dragon, no alt form
and lastly are the OA dragons, Oriental Adventures, and I don't have the book, and don't feel like downloading it right now.
So basically it's only a few dragons, mostly good ones that get the alt form.
Dr. Salem
Okay, thanks for clearing that up.
Spirit Wolf
How am I doing so far?
And I don't get an alt form? Meh, oh well.
Dr. Salem
godhand1514 wrote:

You could get Magic's you know, something similar.
Spirit Wolf
Hmm, can we multi class later? I could be a fighter-mage.
Nah, I'm not much of a magic person. Thats why my DnD char is a dwarf fighter.
ginpu
I'm not going to have multi-classing, simply for the difficulties it would cause the players, and mostly the problems I would run into as the GM.
As dragons age, they gain the ability to cast spells like a sorcerer, which is much easier than a wizard. You pick spells and you get to cast them X amount a day. That's it. Once the spells are picked though, you are stuck with them. Though I think you may be able to change em out at levels. But I am not looking that up right now.
I haven't decided on what classes yet, but I'm intending to avoid the 2 arcane classes (wizard/sorcerer) and probably allowing the cleric and paladin, but not druid.
But stop looking so far ahead on me.
I'm trying to draw the dragons right now. I have a rough sketch of Alec done. Then working on Rhinli, then Rein. Small dragons first. hopefully I can at least get clean outlines of those 3 tonight. I was gonna surprise you all but, I get so absorbed that I don't check back often enough. heh.
Dr. Salem
How do you hunt an aquatic creature as it flaps around on the ground? It's easy pickins. Is there a little tank so Topaz dragons can hunt?
Durandal
"No d20" isn't an excuse anymore. We have technology.
That's insulting. You should always use the traditional dice in these kinds of games.
ginpu
I have too many dice to not use them.
The room Alec enters will have a shore, and thus a sea before him stocked with Mahi Mahi. aka Dolphin.
BlackBlade
I going to bed I'll post in the morning.
Durandal
Goodnight Kevin.
I understand, Ginpu.
No it's not, Godhand. Give me one reason I deem sufficient that a random number generator is not appropriate.
Demecas
can't find my dice but I only have 10 sided dice so :p
Spirit Wolf
Tradition.
ginpu
Yeah, but Deme, you don't have to hunt. Remember? Silver dragons prefer human cuisine. Your room is quite simply a dining room with a long table and plenty of chairs with steaming plates of Eggs Benedict made from Roc eggs.
