It is the year 2351, a space station filled with criminals, maintenance workers and CO’s of the many races from the farthest parts of the universe floats in the empty vacuum of space. This Space Station, Xilinx Universal Penitentiary, is titled “The Scream Jar” (In space, no one can hear you scream.) for its highest death rate and death sentences carried out within its metal decks and housed some of the bloodiest history of horrible things from a massacre back when it was scientific facility to genocide from a madman warden. Xilinx consumes its residents to their inner core, even after death. Magic is nothing but a child’s dream in this world; you have a better chance having something more… otherworldly.
As in Otherworldly, give an evil-esqe power. You don't have to be evil to acquire it, but you only get it when hell breaks loose. For Example, this guy from the game has an evil-esqe power. -> http://www.2kgames.com/thedarkness/
In this RP your weapon are whatever you pick up and only after Hell breaks loose, that won’t happen for a while though since Rp’s that go instantly into action with barely any introductions to each other’s characters tend to succeed at a low rate. In other words, it’ll happen whenever and wherever I want! You can choose any race you want like a dragon, wookie, Dark Elf, Big Momma, etc. unless I say so.

So... for shits and giggles, one could effectively be Stitch, eh?
Dr. Salem
(Non-serious GM Salem)Damn straight... one who smokes and talks like Tony Montana would be A plus.
(Serious GM Salem)Well not really, it's a serious-ish RP. Don't go overboard with cartoony stuff. Or don't make the crime too big that cops will want to kill you on the spot you're arrested. Maximum hatred is where they think you're absolute scum and spit on you. Prisoner's on the other hand... their level of hatred is unlimited.
Describe you race too.
Jesus, I now know what it's like for you GM's and seriousness. *Hillbilly accent* Don't make fun of me RP! *Loads shotgun*

Iatrophobia - Fear of doctors.
Bio/History: He's an ex- special ops soldier. The reason for being kicked out was for destroying an entire village with sending rocket into a large gas facility. Before they could take him away he escaped, and has been killing people ever since.
His race, the furyans, are a war-like race. They are strangled at birth with their own umbilical cords to test if they are worthy enough for life
At the age of 5, they train to be warriors. At the age of10, they can pick what kind of training they want, and at 20, their training ends and they can do what they want, though they're encouraged to be soldiers.
He was caught by mercenaries that were searching for the bounty on his head and knocked him out cold with 5 tranquilizer darts
Don't expect too many guns, you are a prisoner after all, even if cops are killed in front of you they have a genetic mechanism to prevent prisoners.
(It's the future after all and made Butcher Bay quite a fun game not requiring to use guns all the time)
Spirit Wolf
That is why I have martial arts and small blades
Dr. Salem
I'm going to bed.
I have no clue how to pronounce my prison's name. I also feel ashamed that I didn't come up with my character yet.

Name: Slade Canda
Prison Nickname: Deathstroke
Age: 55
Race: Human
Homeworld: Earth
Gender: Male
Occupation: Prisoner
Prisoner Number: 43765
Clothing: black tank, with the orange pants
Skills/Strengths:
electronics
metel working
trained reflexes
Otherworldly power: Insanity? (otherwise, none)
Crime: murder, various crimes against humanity (full list was never compile pre-sentencing and I was never informed of the rest)
Sentence: life
Weaknesses:
refuses to take orders
hates insects
strobe lights can make him become disoreinted
Bio/History: Born and raised Darren Canda in a normal human family, my parents were brutally murdered before my eyes. I took it on myself to avenge them as Slade Canda, and within a year, unable to stop with the killer, had built up a reputation as the best in the city. But it didn't stop there. I became more and more ruthless in my assignments and eventualy I became hellbent on the one thing that would give me perfect control: the World. I nearly suceeded, but for a five man team of trained special operation marines I would have. Through my failure I was captured and sentenced to life.
Description:
Physical: Heavyset but not overweight. Well proportioned. His face is unremarkable and one would forget it within a few minutes if one were to see pass him on the street or in a tavern.
Clothing: (or what he would be wearing given the chance) Comfortably fitting, black denim jeans, A ripped black vest over a white t-shirt and a worn black leather belt with several pouches around it and a holster for his pistol (nomally an Automag V but in this case he will likely be settling for his 'power knife') on his right hip. Wears dark brown boots with external steel toes caps and a steel tread on the soles
Personality: Largely emotionless, Canda possesses the natural born instincts of a killer and the analytical mind of a trained assassin. Normally blunt and uncaring, referring to most people as ‘bounty bate' he occasionally shows a softer side, especially when dealing with children.
Unusual in his occupation, also Canda follows a sort of Code of Honour that he follows as best he can although he occasionally slips from a few of the rules.
His drink of choice is a Human vodka ‘on the rocks' and he has a tendency to offer to pay for drink of his bar mates and for any lonely looking females who happen to wander in.
ginpu
Understood on the cartoon thing. I noticed that you have all that (prison) info. There is no choice of sides right? Everyone is a prisoner for something, correct?
Spirit Wolf
You can be a guard or a mechanic. The prison things only apply if you're a prisoner.
Dr. Salem
That is what the occupation is for.
The three choices are Prisoners, Officers, and Maintenance.
Demecas
I won't be entering this one.
1. Being used to help train my owner to become a full mistress.
2. trying to revise and set up char sheets.
3. working on Rein's char sheet for the bahamut one.
4. still in Irialli and can't figure out how to make my char 15 levels stronger in an instant.
5. also part of an Rp on 2 kindes.
6. part of 3 rps on IMVU.
I just don't have the time for anouther one. since the 1st one takes up all my time. sorry but I'm not joining it.
Dr. Salem
It's all right. I just hope enough people join.
All the Rp's I joined in 2kinds are well, deadish. DF canceled his, we're low on posts with Mirku's part of Keidran Life and Snuggle's KL thread is dead.
These are the only RP's I have left sadly.

Seven planets? Tell me how a person who could destroy seven planets get locked with a bunch of scumbags?
BlackBlade
I'm sticking with what I had this char. do in other RPs. Crap I got to change the age. Only 2 planets were in habited the other ones were for show and testing. I'll explain things in the history. But he mainly a pirate. How to destroy Planets? Huge F'n Partial Particle Cannon.
Spirit Wolf
BB, they're giving me shit for killing more than 100 people, I think you're going to have to change that.
Dr. Salem
You forgot about editing your profile.
BB, cops would kill you on the spot if you were captured. An evil overlord doesn't tend to survive long in this universe.
Spirit Wolf
Mercs bringing him in for the bounty. That would work, wouldn't it?
Dr. Salem
Well think about it, who would the Mercs had him to? Cops! Cops who think all prisoners are scum and deserve to die.
Spirit Wolf
Yo, watch chronicles of riddick sometime, will ya?
BlackBlade
Hey GH you of all people should know, what the Executor can do.... I jacked Plasma Guy's Account about the second day he was in the VS forum. D and Gin should know also.
Fine I wont use Sam
GaryWilliams
no government would wait any amout of time for a trial....they'd have bounty hunter out for blood.
And if the cops don't get ya, don't forget the other inmates. If any one of 'em from one of those said planets you wouldn't survive your first night.
I must be an idiot....I'm leaving town for the summer the day after tomorrow and likely won't be online anywhere for the next 2 months other than e-mail.
Who'se up for killing the madman?
BlackBlade
I'm making a new Char hold on. Jeez doesn't any body read?
Dr. Salem
Durandal does, he's so much into the past.
ginpu
Guys, you're going to make this RP go to shit with over powered characters. Learn how to trim the excess shit off them and listen to the GM. If you are unable to comply with Salem's rules, don't play. It's not that hard.
I strongly agree with both Salem and Gary. Both your asses would already be dead by bounty hunters. You wouldn't even had made it this far if you were that powerful.
I'll put together a character shortly. I've already PM'd Salem the 5 skills/strengths I am looking into. As well as the other worldly power. I should mention, my 5 are individual things. Such as if I know 2 specific forms of martial arts, guess what, that's 2 strengths/skills. Each type of weapon I may be proficient with would count as 1 each. Whether Salem thinks this is too weak, is not entirely my concern. I am making the character believable and not god (or satan) herself.
There is no reason to be the devil himself. There is no point to RPing when that's the case. Or did some of us not LEARN that from the Genma vs the Resistance RP that plummeted because of all the god mode?
Durandal
Yeah, I remember Executor from way back when.
Heh, I just spent a good portion of time re-reading the Genma vs. the Resistance thread back in Twokinds. Those were good times, and I think it was a pretty good story. I must say though, Kevin, your writing skills have improved drastically since then.
Uh, Salem... what do I read? Which past are we talking about?
And... I wrote this before Ginpu posted... what a coincidence, eh?
BlackBlade
It was my first..... what can I say?
But yeah new Char coming soon
ginpu
Your know, i just finally looked at the link you had posted, for Jackie Estacado. God... This makes me feel old. I didn't think the comic was that old, but if you are referenceing the video game and not the comic I feel way old. I have the 1st comic of The Darkness. If it exists I do have #0 as well. I don't feel like clawing through my comic box right now. But man... I loved that comic. Course then I went away for a bit, couldn't get my hands on comics and by the time I had a chance to catch up, it was too damn expensive to do so. I cry now. Though the video game there kinda left out the looks of some of the imps that followed Jackie about. hehe.
Dr. Salem
I'm suffering massive gaming addiction right now with HP and the order game.
Zymeth
I don't know if I'm gunna join this right away since I said I would join dragon RP, but I'll think about a char anyway...
hmm, trying to narrow down my ideas... If I don't use a traditional creature, I guess it would have to be something that could actually be arrested, so that rules out a blob monster... and it has to be somewhere around human-size I would think... he can't use magic or have sci-fi gadgets with him...
On the other hand, a blob monster could be a maintenance worker, right? Good at fixing those leakey pipes.
Dr. Salem
Uh... we fight monsters in this RP. We'll have a hard time knowing whether or not you're a maintenance worker from hell or not.
Zymeth
I don't think I would be able to play as a blob anyway. XP ("maintenance worker from hell" that's good)
Well I want to save my other design for later, sooo... I'll narrow it down some more. Does the character need to be humanoid?
Dr. Salem
Well... would you imprison a real wolf or a tiger in a Universal Penitentiary?
Zymeth
...Not really what I meant. I'm asking if a char needs to have 2 arms with hands/grabby parts, 2 legs, a torso, and 1 head.
An example would be: a Dragon, the way we normally see them they have their front limbs on the ground, so that isn't humanoid. But they can be.
(assuming that rough definition doesn't count a weird neck)
Spacy game/movie/series examples: E.T. is humanoid, an Elite is humanoid, a Locust Drone (GoW) is humanoid, the Asguard (spelling?) are humanoid, "Predator" is humanoid
um... Politicians are humanoid too I guess
((oops, didn't mean to make this so long. Oh well, good night))
Dr. Salem
Meh, whatever. Just don't play an animal, you don't arrest animals...
I'm going to say no on the dragons too though, they're the type of creatures that officials would not want to mess with. They're a higher order. A half-dragon might be okay. Think an argonian from the Elder Scrolls series.
ginpu
Here to help you out.
A humanoid usually has two arms, two legs, and one head, or a humanlike torso, arms, and a head. Humanoids have few or no supernatural or extraordinary abilities, but most can speak and usually have well-developed societies. They usually are Small or Medium. Every humanoid creature also has a subtype.
Monstrous humanoids are similar to humanoids, but with monstrous or animalistic features. They often have magical abilities as well.
A dragon is a reptilelike creature, usually winged, with magical or unusual abilities.
An animal is a living, nonhuman creature, usually a vertebrate with no magical abilities and no innate capacity for language or culture.
Magical beasts are similar to animals but can have Intelligence scores higher than 2. Magical beasts usually have supernatural or extraordinary abilities, but sometimes are merely bizarre in appearance or habits.
Just to try and help you understand types. I don't know if this is how Salem will run, but overall, that's the general gist of types. There are lots more, but I figured showing those would be best.
Oh yeah and I should have something to you today Salem. I been rethinking my original idea. heh.
Dr. Salem
Okay... I'll have mine... sometime. Tomarrow, next thursday... how about the day I start the RP? When all character sheets are done.
I don't know how anyone will get into the RP if you sign up late. We're in a space station with the only transportation being friegters carrying prisoners.
Zymeth
Okay, I think I'm clear on that part. Now, does the char need to be technically living? ((mummies! )) And can their body temperature excede more than a few hundred degrees? ((I just saw a picture of a Lava Dwarf and it looked really cool )) Or below freezing temperature? ((Ice, ice, baby!))
Spirit Wolf
Zymeth wrote:
((I just saw a picture of a Lava Dwarf and it looked really cool ))
There's an oxymoron if I ever saw one. O.o
Zymeth
I thought I would be over-doing it if I pointed that out.
Dr. Salem
Something that isn't magical, that is all I ask.
Zymeth
Alright, almost all the way narrowed. So, can he have an awsome spikey tail?
Spirit Wolf
Future+freaks+Genetic engineering= WTF
I'm pretty sure you can.
ginpu
ignore this.
Spirit Wolf
I'm playing escape from butcher bay for the first time, So I'll be busy tonight. Also, how the hell did they get Ron Pearlman?
Dr. Salem
Because Starbreeze is God-like, they made Riddick a purely ultimate game and made one hell of a Darkness game.
Spirit Wolf
I liked abott, too bad he had to die.
Dr. Salem
They're coming out with a 360 version of it with improved graphics and a little bit more levels after the end!

This was the man who sliced Nick's eyes and almost violated him were not the peace keepers in blue close by and heard Nick's screams. He had no story for the police to listen, he was not sure if he had parents to return to.
For three years Nick lied in wait of an orphanage and learned how to use his other senses instead of his eyes. He never had once used a cane (Or whatever you call them, a seeing stick?) to get around. You would not know he was blind if not for the bloody blindfold covering his eyes. Nick's memory's only provide as much information as this, he thought he was adopted and who ever did this put him threw training to protect himself. The only hint of this in his memories is a space station by the name of Alpha 1-778 and the voice of a training room.
Nick now finds himself on a freighter and blamed for murder and arson and heading for death row. He has no recollection of any the events he was accused of and awaits whatever the universe has in store of him.
Description: Besides from his orange jumpsuit and light blue tank-top, milky brown fur covers Nick's body. Dried blood lies on the fur below his eye sockets and a white blindfold with several bloodstains cover his sliced eyes.
Hmm, Perhaps I should have made the sheet a code like Ginpu.
I'm starting to not like the Planner part of my strengths. I'd rather do the Acrobatic like thing.
What's that Skill called again? Acrobatic?

Bio/History: For thirty-some odd years Malcau Wellington lived as a citizen of Tau Ceti, fulfilling his responsibilities to the community and his family alike. He worked in the family business of interplanetary transportation and he both enjoyed the work and excelled at it. Everything was going smoothly until one day a call came in from an incoming freighter concerning an anomaly that had been sighted in the trade lanes. The action-oriented person he was, Malcau offered to fly a ship out there himself to determine the source of the problem report, which had been cut short due to unexplained interference. Malcau believed his thorough education in the broad subject biomechanics made him one of the best qualified people within convenient distance of the area, and he would not suffer the delays that would be incurred should the lanes be shut down for the time it would take to cart in a team of experts.
Upon arriving at the last known location of the freighter that called in the anomaly, the first thing Malcau noticed was the way the space in the area swirled and roiled, as though the very fabric of existence was being kneaded by a chef in a higher dimension. The occurrence fascinated Malcau in a way he couldn’t describe, and he as alarms rang out over the bridge of his small ship all he could do was watch the distorted area grow larger and closer through the viewscreens. Eventually, the ship was drawn into the field and for all intents and purposes Malcau Wellington ceased to exist as the word is used to describe what normal people do.
When Malcau opened his eyes next he couldn’t help but wonder why his eyes had been closed in the first place. His was no longer the person he had been before the fateful day when he had been accepted. He was now Sarasvati, servant of the W’rkncacnter, first minister to Tau Ceti. He served a mighty and powerful god, and his mission was absolute; everything, his life included, came second to him. His task was simple, his mission eloquent: it was up to him and the small group of followers already in place on Tau Ceti to lead the people of the colony back to the one true god via the only means available: death. Sarasvati knew just how to do this, and his new body was up to the task…
Three years later and preparations were complete. Their initially small cadre of believers had grown exponentially, and now Sarasvati led a multitude of followers more than happy to prove themselves to their god. All over the planet and the two inhabited moons, members of the cult had positioned themselves in strategic locations. Government infrastructure was the main target, and had all of the explosives gone off correctly, the entire population would have been wiped out. Atmosphere cleaners and water treatment plants would have been knocked offline along with all major sources of electricity. All life on the planet would have died within three months assuming the government was as efficient in attempting to set up a temporary solution as Sarasvati believed. Eventually though, resources would be depleted, and no amount of temporary solutions would save Tau Ceti. The planet would fall, and the W’rkncacnter would be pleased.
Two days before the plan was to reach fruition, the planetary law enforcement came through and, in the eyes of the rest of the planet, saved the day. From Sarasvati’s point of view, the fools only managed to turn down the generous offer they had been given… and now denied the W’rkncacnter would not be so merciful next time. Meanwhile, Sarasvati is now in the highest of high security prisons where he awaits deliverance from the W’rkncacnter for the faithfulness on his part or, barring that, his chance to escape and carry out his part once more.
Description: With pale white skin and silvery metal additions to his body, ‘Reverend’ Sarasvati seems almost an apparition. His body carries many stitches and scars where various items were inserted into his body during his time of acceptance. The biomechanical nature of the implants caused them to grow as a part of his body, making them inseparable without causing him extreme harm. Unfortunately though, many of his bodily upgrades have been disabled by prison authorities who have managed to remove key components of the augmentations, leaving him just like a normal person. Deprived of his superior strength, healing, speed, and reflexes, Sarasvati walks with a strange limping gait. His entire body is now at the point of almost decrepit, but still a fiery passion burns in his intense red eyes that glow faintly in the dark. His face is completely without hair, and on his bald scalp there are a number of metal protrusions and disturbing scars that show where his brain has been upgraded.
Not at all an impressive figure, Sarasvati stands a modest six feet tall, but weighs only 130 pounds, mainly because the strange alien metal used to replace chunks of his skin is some sort of superlight alloy.
BlackBlade
Updated mine cause someone else already was using the powers I wanted to give my char. But never fight a GM. Oh well
Dr. Salem
Hey, I didn't say you couldn't be a shadow morph like me. I just said it'd be awkward.
Anyways I finished Nick's profile. Think a Basitin for his look, they look the most similar to him.
EDIT: Oh, wait hell no I'm not done. I was thinking dodge not acrobat or agile or whatever. You guys can update your sheets as much as you want until the RP is up. I'll start it tomorrow or the day after.
Durandal, do you want your character coming in with us or do want to be already there?
Durandal
Already there. For a couple of years, I guess.
Other than that, whaddya think?
Spirit Wolf
Reverend? Have you been watching Independence day?
ginpu
This is what I get for lazying around. Durandal's strengths are somewhere along the lines I was thinking, but his story is NO WHERE near what I was thinking. LOL.
Must think...
Dr. Salem
Good, really good. Brain hurt good.
Spirit Wolf
I vote on having "the next Steven King" Put over his Image at the top.
Durandal
Nope, haven't been watching Independence day.
Sorry to hear I stole your thunder there, Ginpu. I'm wondering now what story you would have had to accompany a character with similar strengths as mine.
And I actually prefer Timothy Zahn over Stephen King. Not as a comparison to my own writing, mind you, but as authors. Anyway, the only reason I wrote that much is because my roommate borrowed my ethernet cable (he forgot his so we have to share until he gets one) and I had a lot of spare time to think about it.
Well, I hope you're ready to GM, Salem. Is this your first time doing it?
Dr. Salem
Yep... *cowers*
Durandal
Nah, I'm sure you'll do fine. Just make sure you read all of the responses carefully. You don't want to be missing stuff as GM.
I've been considering my own RP for a while now... but I figure three RPs going already is plenty for the time being. It is (I believe) an interesting concept for an RP. Maybe I should start a thread in the fuzz area. Hmm... yeah, I'll do that.
ginpu
No worries Durandal. I'm flipping through some Shadowrun stuff right now.
Question though. Durandal has Bio-mechanical Augmentations. How many augmentations is that? Like would several things fall under there? Kinda like small blades is classified? if so, how many is the limit before it needs to be counted as a second skill/strength?
Dr. Salem
Hmm, physical augmentations such as reflexes, speed, and strength could be counted as one I guess. The healing augmentations though would be counted seperatly.
I'm not sure if telekinesis could be counted as an otherworldly power though, it doesn't sound evil...
Spirit Wolf
You can use telekinesis to make people shit themselves. That's both evil and funny
Dr. Salem
I was never told this!

Clothing:Tan overalls with a black tank-top underneath. Black skullcap, black leather choker/necklace, and sheer white sleeves.
Skills/Strengths:
1. Jui Jitsu
2. Trained in the use of Nunchakus & Escrima Sticks (these are the two weapons I am being trained in simultaneously in RL.)
3. Cyberware
Her right eye is a prototype cyber-eye she created, ideally it is able to see in many conditions. Low-light, thermal, normal. It can also magnify things up to 10X (which really isn't that far). It doesn't always behave. See below.
4. Highly intelligent, devoting much of her time to research and improving her mechanical and bio-mechanical skills.
5. Bio-ware
Suprathyroid (increased attributes and reaction.)
Sleep Regulator - Her own design. The overall effect is that the recipient requires less sleep per day, and the sleep tends to be deeper and more restful, with higher dream activity. Perfect for an obsessive personality who prefers tackling long-term tasks.
Otherworldly power: Teleportation, limited like Nightcrawler or City of Heroes. Illusion - limited. GM knows the limits. I don't want to post them because of the player vs character knowledge abuse.
Crime: On her home planet, implanting the biomechanics on herself.
Sentence: Exile
Weaknesses:
1. Fear of Heights - when she can see the ground, space doesn't induce this.
2. Single Minded and Obsessed with her creations. She's a slave to them, always thinking of ways to improve them.
3. Her right eye has a tendency to malfunction. If it doesn't just stop working, it may turn everything black and white, thermal, or nightvision, against her will.
4. Must intake twice as much food to sustain herself due to the suprathyroid. Also tends to be a little on the hyperactive side...ok a lot on the hyperactive side.
5. Suffers from infrequent bouts of insomnia. A side effect of the sleep regulator. Stress can increase the frequency of insomnia.
Bio/History: Thraxah are a reptilian humanoid race with prehensile tails. Most Thraxah are intrigued by mechanics. They tend to take things apart just to figure out how they work, and then put them back together, making the item better than before.
Thraxah are warmblooded, despite their reptilian appearance. The average male stand round 7' tall while the females just barely squeak past 5'. The males tend to be stronger, while the females are faster and more flexible. They have hair upon their heads, much like a human, and the styles and color vary. Their skin also varies from black to grey, white, brown, and most lighter/pastel versions of the color wheel. Their external ears resemble frill on a dragon. They have 3 clawed toes per foot, and 4 clawed fingers per hand.
Thraxah have a rather long lifespan, unlike a human. It is not unheard of for one to live to 250 years of age.
Their social lives are not much different than a human. A male and female are needed to produce offspring. Like humans, Thraxah have a gestation period, though theirs tends to last 15 months. When a Thraxah is born it's capabilities are on par with a 2 year old human.
Thraxah try to form a life bond or marriage. It is unheard of to separate after joining. Typically arrangements are set up by parents in the first year of the child's life.
Thraxah has been into intergalactic travel and trade for well over 1,000 years now. Even though a lot of their technology is advanced, in the home, they tend to live more simply.
The droids/robots they build have benefited many races throughout time. From delicate surgery, to demolishing buildings, to simple maids to help around the house. Thraxah robots are well know. Within the past 500 years Thraxah have been tinkering with biotechnology and cyber-ware. It's become very popular in the past 50 years, with all sorts of beings desiring it for their own reasons. While the Thraxah may create and produce the bio-mechanicals and cyber-ware, it against their own sense of being to use the devices on themselves. Doing so is likely to have you put to death, or worse, forced exile. Death is welcomed over exile.
Kartoa itself is a planet, roughly the size of the earth, with a similar climate. There really isn't a winter on Kartoa. Most of the planet is still covered in its natural environment. The Thraxah, despite their advanced technology, still value the natural balance of their home world and will do anything to preserve it. One thing most Thraxah love more than their families is their planet.
Description: Ryoshi stands a mere 5' in height. She weighs 104lbs. Her skin is a pastel yellow, with lighter undertones. Her hands, feet, "ear" tips and tail tip are a charcoal grey that softly fades back to yellow. Her left "ear" is pierced four times. 2 on top, 2 on bottom. Her right "ear" is pierced twice on the bottom. Her tail is usually adorned with 3 tail rings. Usually copper in color. Her hair is a deeper fiery red. Her left eye is a mix of orange, red and yellow, almost like a living flame. A scar runs from her forehead to just below her cheekbone on the right side, crossing over the eye. Her right eye appears cold, dead, blind.
Ryoshi is an exile from Kartoa. She's implemented not just one, but several pieces of the cyber-ware into herself. She's found the rush from it to be like a high from a drug.
She had created some new versions and upgrades. However, with no-one to test it on, she would secretly use herself as the subject. This worked fine until the company she worked for installed cameras. They had been hearing from other employees that something didn't seem right with Ryoshi. Several believed she was experimenting on herself, and they were right.
Ryoshi was put on trial and convicted of the worst crime. The judge felt even death would not be punishable enough and had her exiled from Kartoa. She was allowed to take her personal ship, a few tools, some clothes, and a few necessities.
Ryoshi had made sure to pack many of her devices and tools that were considered outlawed on Thraxah and hid them amongst the normal items and clothing she took with her.
She spent some time in space and going planet to planet that her species had visited in the past. Even if she broke the law of her own planet, she wasn't going to break intergalactic laws. Like the ones that protect the more "primitive" worlds. Those who have not yet reached the scientific level of space travel and exploration.
She found some temporary employment on some planets. Making robots and teaching the people of said planet a thing or two about robots and mechanics. These employments never lasted overly long. If the people felt they could learn no more, they would thank her and send her on her way. Others felt uncomfortable with her zeal for mechanical, bio and metal and would ask her to leave.
On occasion she was given some jobs that allowed her to advance her bio-mechanical skills. Although this was few and far between. Aside from adjusting her own enhancements she needed more people to "experiment" on.
While hanging out at a space diner at the edge of the Capricorn Dwarf galaxy, she hooked into the matrix to see of any possible job listings. ((information highway, internet, outernet, whatever you call it around here. shadowrun calls it the matrix and SR was out before the movie of same name.)) While she could search from her own ship, it was limited as to how far she could search. Space stations tend to have stronger signals and broader search capabilities.
She had found a listing for a mechanical maintenance worker at Xilinx Universal Penitentiary. While she would normally shy away from going anywhere near a prison, something told her to apply and see what happens.
She was accepted near immediately when she applied for the job. After a month or so, she went to the director and asked him a question most would deem as odd. She asked if she could use prisoners on death row as test subjects, for her wares. She was a bit surprised that the director agreed to her request.
If she's not fixing something mechanical on the station or tuning a robot, she is likely to be found in the "back room". The prisoners labeled the room as such. Most the time if one was brought back there, they didn't return. And when they did, they were for the worse.
Behind the closed doors she tries to improve her wares to an extreme level. This tends to lead a good deal of the death row in-mates to an early grave.

My character doesn't actually have any augmentations as of right now. They were all confiscated from him, so as our story goes along he has the chance to gain more power by finding the augmentations wherever they were stored. His BM augs would be replaced in their spots on his arms, legs, chest, and head, and they would improve strength, speed, endurance, and reflexes respectively. As for quickened healing, that would be more a matter of genetic modifications currently suppressed by medication. That could be bypassed by either finding the antidote or just giving the medication enough time to wear off... I haven't decided which.
So, for two of his 'strengths' I included potential strengths in the future, but ones he doesn't actually have at the beginning. This all leaves me with a fairly weak character who thinks he knows his way around explosives but other than that has no real skills.
And, if telekinesis doesn't count as an 'otherworldly' power, what would? Once it gets stronger you can use your mind to grip a person's separate limbs and literally pull them apart. You can shove people into spikes or off of building. You can snap a neck with a thought.
Telekinesis might not be inherently evil, but then again neither is simply 'going into the walls as a shadow and filtering the room in darkness.' It's all about how you use those powers.
If you would like though, I can change it. But realistically, unless I use powers very similar to those in The Darkness, there will be no "evil" power I could possibly think of.
Ginpu: Sweet character. Did you get the race from somewhere or make it up?
Dr. Salem
Hmm, good point. Telekinesis can be quite evil.
Now that you put it that way I wonder the extents of shadow morphing.
Is anyone fluent in the unique morphings or did I make them up? I want to know if I can make a blade made out of pure shadow.
Just remember, you get your powers after the incident. You were not born with these powers (Technically you were, they go with your soul. But wait, there should be a heavenly power too to go along with it. No one's born evil, it's just Xilinix's dark nature releasing them)
ginpu
If you are looking for powers check out City of Heroes and City of Villians. They both are good sources of "Other worldly" powers. Another good source is Mutants and Masterminds. It's a D20 game, like Dungeons and Dragons, but it deals with well.. superheroes and villians. I think those would be the best places for shadow power usage.
I've been reading through Shadowrun's cyber-ware to get ideas on the bio-augmentations.
As far as the character went? I drew her over the weekend. I'll post picture later. I spent last night messing around on the star wars wiki looking through all the species in the ultimate alien anthology. I had an idea to go with, but what I wanted didn't fit any of the reptilian races star wars had. So I read up on most of em, read some Shadowrun classes and pasted it together.
I'm not finished as I need to still finish why she is at the prison station. I haven't decided if she is a prisoner or worker. See, her crime would only be affected by her home planet. I am sure the rest of the world could care less if one chose to use themselves as the subject of their own creations.
Dr. Salem
I think you're a maintenance worker. For one, it seems everyone else is a prisoner. Your character sounds like she'd make one hell of a maintenance girl.
ginpu
with the option to "experiment" since no one cares for the prisoners? keke
Dr. Salem
Sure.
Zymeth
Crap I need to hurry. *to self* What's going to take longer: coming up with the rest of a back-story and crime and stuff, or a good name with no pun in it... I'd say the latter.
ginpu
Only problem with editing posts is it doesn't bump the thread up again, so this is my official tell me what needs to be fixed Mr. Dr. Salem, please?
Zymeth
That pic is pure pwnage!!!
Name: Ray Wiskth
Prison Nickname: Club
Age: 23
Race: Gelurizard
Home world: Kaglon
Gender: Male
Occupation: Prisoner
Prisoner Number: 711-73318
Clothing: Orange jump suit pants, pale green tank
Skills/Strengths:
1. Good reflexes
2. Resistance to cold
3. Good at using his "awsome spikey tail! "
4. Lower body strength (legs and tail)
Otherworldly power: Shadow Speed (Can move really fast. Remains solid, but emits a dark cloud)
Crime: Rape and murder (all I could think of)
Sentence: Life
Weaknesses:
1. Alcoholic (countering those reflexes most of the time)
2. Heat stroke
3. Spike-ends have been clipped
4. Fear of germs
Gelurizard Bio/History/Description: Gelurizards live in the cold climates of Kaglon, a mostly-icy planet. They are reptillian humanoids with Basitin-like furry ears and a tail with colorful spikes. ((I mean it, that's really how I made them)) They're warm-blooded, but at a low body temperature, about 60 degrees F. They also are omnivorous, but perfer vegies; have a short muzzel; have a social system similar to humans, except for obsession of spikes; have a short gestation period, until an egg laying; have a life-span of about 100 years, unless they hybernate often, then it's longer. (Their cities contain industry just like any warm planet would incase you're having a hard time picturing it)
Their young are covered in fur except for their tails, and their ears are smaller and more upright. ((aww, I wish I could scan my brain and show you how cute they are! ^_^)) Fur colors range from blonde to dark brown, having everything between those but not black, red, or white. They lose most of their fur at 10, and grow full spikes by 15. The males have larger spikes, but females' are pointier. The spikes are made of bone and have blood flow in them, and they only become colorful during mating season. Their scales are light-blue to white. Gelus don't grow to be very tall, the males are lucky if they reach 5'7".
((I'm not making all my chars short on purpose. That's just how I imagined this one in 5 seconds. I don't have controll over it))
Gelus have very small ineffective claws. Their webbed feet are adapted to walking on snow and thin ice, but not for scratching. ((I don't have to include that in strengths/weaknesses do I?)) They have four toes on each foot and one vestigial claw on each heel. Their hands are more anthro-like, but still webbed slightly. ((You know what I mean right?))
Personal Bio/History: Ray always had an unsuccesful life. He was fired from multiple jobs and couldn't get a girlfriend. ((try to imagine the 'classic guy down on his luck' except he's a freaky big-eared lizard thing and it's an ice planet)) He was depressed, so he went to a bar.
((And then his memmory gets a little fuzzy, so I don't need to put this part))
The next morning he woke up next to a female Gelu. Once he saw the pool of blood under her and on him he jumped up and knew she was dead. The authorities came in and pinned him to the wall and a kinfe dropped out of his hand. They arrested him... ((blah blah blah. stuff!)) ... clipped his spikes down into stubs one by one in a very painful procces... ((blah blah blah. you know already!)) ... brought him to Xilinx Universal Penitentiary to spend the rest of his miserable life.
In prizon he gained the nickname "club" since all the cut spikes seem to form a fragmented ball at the end of his tail. He's been there for a little over a year.
((Side note: the victim was not killed by spikes, they have specialized defence against their own spikes. They just get clipped since he's with other species, er something))
Description: He's 5'5". Most of his scales are more of a gray color from malnurishment, with only a hint of blue. Each of his would-be spikes has a rubber(or something) cap over it. It causes pain when they hit a wall/floor hard. His dark brown ear fur doesn't extend to the top of his head, but it is a little poofy on the bottom side. (That's an individual trait, not all of his spieces have that pattern)
Not very open to others. He has come to accept that his life will lead him nowhere. (most likely)
His favorite drink is a tequila, but he'll drink anything with alcohol in it.
Durandal
Hmm, I find myself having to agree with Master Zymeth here. Fabulous job on the illustrative image, Ginpu. You managed to capture the beautiful, dangerous, and artistic all in one go. Absolutely astounding.
Zymeth
Yea, and you draw good too!
Durandal
Ugh
*Shudders and slaps forehead*
*Points accusingly at Zymeth*
If you can stay around to make such a frustrating post, surely you could have continued working on your character!
Zymeth
I could have?... hmm... Well I am. It's not like I can't be in 5 places at once. I have tabbed browsing! Booya!
ginpu
Tabbed browsing 4tmfw!
Durandal
Such language!
Er... letters...
Zymeth
Oh wait, I see what you're saying D. I already switched computers. I just couldn't bring my char-sheet with me so I posted it prematurely.
Durandal
Ah, now I understand. I'm glad you caught on, because I surely had no intention of realizing why we weren't communicating on the same level.
Actually, I would have if I wasn't so woozy. 'Lifted' sleeping pills for the win. Or, 'ftw' if you prefer.
Zymeth
Sorry, but my communicating at your level ends right..... Green-avy guy talk funny!
Dr. Salem
Yes, yes. Quite alright for both your profiles.
The only question is Zymeth's sentence. Murder is a life sentence and rape is a 70-year sentence right?
I have to ask Ginpu something though, who will she experiment on?
Spirit Wolf
*Cough cough*Me!*cough*
ginpu
I figured there was a few more than the 6 of us at the station, so red shirts number 1, 2, 5, 19, 537 and 827 would do fine. They're just gonna die anyways. LOL
Zymeth's character would be difficult. She's abhorred by rape. Just the thought of it makes me as a person want to vomit. But with his reptilian nature and existing good reflexes, she might be able to see past the rape. Her work is her life, but rape just turns her stomach. She'd actually enjoy causing Zymeth pain for that alone. heh
Durandal would be the likely choice. He has existing bioware. Disabled or not, his body is accepting of the technology.
GW, should he actually play would be a candidate. He's not over-skilled yet, plus his trained reflexes would entice Ryoshi to make them even better.
BB would also be a candidate for cyberware at least. With his mechanical knowledge, he could let Ryoshi know how things felt and even bounce ideas at her to make it better.
Even Salem could be a candidate. I think your enhanced senses and dodge could be put under one category. I mean, enhanced senses allow you to notice things faster, thus your reaction time is faster. That and having no eyeballs is definitely a temptation for Ryoshi. Making new ones and seeing how well they can work.
Godhand... the answer is not in a million years until you trim all that fat off your character. Your skills are ridiculous.
Able to make shiv’s from metal or rock <---fine
Martial Arts- Jiu Jitsu, Muay thai, wu shu, and Hapkido <---Um... that's 4 skills right there. And if you say you use Jui Jitsu and your explanation is wrong, I will not hesitate to correct you.
Mastery of shivs, dagger, and pocket knifes <---fine
Gun mastery of hand guns, rifles both semi and auto, shotguns, rocket launchers <---I count this as 3-4. I would put the shot gun in with the hand gun or rifle, probably rifle. I don't know what your experience is with handling any of these items is, aside from playing games, but there is a HUGE difference between a hand gun and a rifle. There's a huge difference between a rifle and a grenade launcher, ffs. But a rocket launcher??? No. Just flat out NO.
Unprofessional Escape artist <--- this is what skill #10?
Spirit Wolf
I could use one of my backup char's. I make one for every RP I join.
Dr. Salem
I really wish I could draw and have a team of animaters.
I wanna music video of Nick and "I wear my sunglasses (Blindfold) at night"
Zymeth
sorry, that was supposed to be 50 years to life. I'll edit it to life without the 50.
Also he was drunk so he didn't remember doing that.
Durandal
Oh Saaaaalleeeemmm (said in that annoying drawn out way designed to get the attention of someone who is completely missing the point of something they really cannot afford to miss but are doing so anyway much to your dismay thus forcing you to utilize that method of speaking that annoys everyone, yourself included just to make sure they notice that you want them to- oh forget it...)
Aren't you going to say anything about Ginpu's objections to GH's character? It is your RP... and they both can't be right. In a situation like this there is a need for a higher authority to settle disputes. And that authority is you, good buddy. So step up to the plate, done your battle armor, make sure your suitcase is packed and... I ran out of preparation idioms.
Just settle the problem.
By the Nine, can't I possibly find a way to say that in less words?!?

Gender: male
Occupation: prisoner
Prisoner Number: 139-6538
Clothing: Blue tank, orange pants
Skills/Strengths:
1.Medical training
2.Darksight
3. linguist
4. stealthy
5. small blades
Otherworldly power: Ghost Body
Crime: Malpractice, unlawful experiments
Sentence: life without parole
Weaknesses:
1. light hurts her eyes
2. burns easily in sunlight

Bio/History:Ren was a doctor on his planet. He started her training when he was 10, and absolutely loved it. When he was 22 he started doing experiments with subjects. When one of his subjects escaped, the police was on him faster than you can say What the hell. He currently wants to talk to Ryoshi about helping her with her 'experiments'.
His race, the wraiths, live in darkness. Their planet has very thick clouds that keep the planet warm, but allows almost no light through. The planets has a mushroom like plant that keeps the wraiths nourished. The wraiths are adapted for stealth to track any prey. The animals have very good hearing, so staying quiet is second nature to them.
Description: 5'5", silver hair and eyes, very white skin, lean build.
Couldn't think of anything more. Help would be nice.
Dr. Salem
Ginpu makes valid points.
Godhand does have a lot of skills and stuff, yet I fear of anyone leaving this RP. Godhand, just strip it down to your favorite type of gun and choose your favorite martial art. It won't effect you much at all.
ginpu
A chick? Why do I feel somewhat sick now?
One rule we has with our games is you always had to play the same sex character as you are. guys are bad at acting like girls, while girls, well, in fairness we don't play guys just to emphasize why guys shouldn't play girls. LOL
Your call though Salem.
Oh and then there is 1:1. every skill/strength taken is supposed to have a weakness as well.
