In the sudden darkness all Gilliam could do was listen to the shuffling noises that came from around the room. There was a clatter of movement, but he didn't know what was going on. "Uh, Dema? What 'things?' Are the bodies attacking? I can't see anything!"
He heard Ronald explain what was going on, but it was meaningless if he couldn't see. Gilliam tried to remember what he did last time to do the light spell. His hand quivered as he held it up and his thoughts were in turmoil... not the best condition for them when trying to cast a spell.
((You can decide what happens, GH... I really need to write this essay.)) _________________

*Kyle looks at the blade, the writing on it looked similar to the writing on his swords, but it was still different.*
<Now>
Gill's spell caused Kyle's scar to briefly go active. Making Kyle drop his walking stick. Kyle looked at the creatures as Dema kicked the swords to him. He grabbed them and stood up. Kyle almost feel over do to the fact he still had the collar on his leg and couldn't move it. So he quickly undid it and let it fall to the floor with a clang. "The heart you say....No problem" Kyle smiled as he stabbed the red Katana into the chest of a near by body. It burst into flames. "Heh, it was fire enchanted. Fire and let's see?" *Kyle trust the blue one into another body, the body flew across the room. "wind" Kyle liked his new toys. _________________ Gravity is a contributing factor in nearly 73% of all accidents involving falling objects.
"So heart comes out eh? I can't use a Bo for that." Nozz sets the Bo against the wall that Demecas had tossed her. She also sets her own Bo next to it. "Gilliam forgive me," Nozz says as she takes a lowered position, closer to the ground. She flexes her hands and runs her claws against the stone floor, removing coagulated rot and blood, while sharpening them.
Nozz looks at Demecas and nods to let her know she is ready. _________________ Sarcasm, just one more service that I offer.
"I'll send you all back to hell," Nozz yells, then quickly turns to look at Demecas, "I understand now. I won't let them hurt you mother, forgive me." With no regard to herself, with only the thoughts of saving her beloved, her friends and her mother from death Nozz leaps into the horde of demonic zombies tearing, clawing, kicking, biting, trying to buy them time at the cost of her own life. _________________ Sarcasm, just one more service that I offer.
As soon as the effect from the light spell started up, Gilliam took in their situation with growing dread. Without any armor or protection Gilliam didn't want to think about what those claws would do to his skin. He remembered the mage's robe and rushed over to it, putting it on as rapidly as he could. Once he donned his new robe he turned to the oncoming undead with newfound confidence (whether it was from some mystic power in the robes or just a placebo effect he didn't know).
Gilliam held out his hands and steadied his mind; a familiar smirking smile lighting up his face. He was ready to once again show that he was master of his destiny... not some outdated demonic punks. Before he could unleash fiery doom on some zombie ass though, he heard Nozz say something quietly. “Forgive you? That noise wasn’t that annoying...” Then she leaped into the fray. “Ugh, Nozz!”
With her in the middle of the group he didn’t dare use a fireball. But at the same time he couldn’t let her alone in there. With a grunt of determination, Gilliam took a running start and then leaped into the air to land on one of the zombies. It toppled under him but immediately began to rise again. Without delay Gilliam held his hands out front of him, pulled them back to his sides before ramming them into the zombies’ rotting chest while yelling, “ignesco alterum!”
The zombie burst into flames and Gilliam had to roll off of it to avoid being consumed in the magical fire along with it. He looked around frantically for Nozz, but in every direction all he saw were more shambling creations of darkness. One of them clawed at him from behind, but the blow only sent him stumbling forward; the mage’s robe deflected most of the blow. When he looked now though, he spotted Nozz on the ground on the opposite side of the room. She appeared dazed, and if something wasn’t done, the monsters would rip her to pieces.
Inside his chest Gilliam’s heart began to race. He felt as though his throat was going to be blocked off and his eyes started to burn. He didn’t want to lose Nozz, and because of his weakness- his failure- that was exactly what was going to happen.
His eyes suddenly narrowed and he gritted his teeth. That was not going to happen! He remembered having read over one of the higher level fire spells in the book, and he saw no other alternative than to try it now. In this case failure was not an option. Gilliam close his eyes and reached out with his entire mind to the magic that flowed through the world. He gathered as much of it as he could, storing it in his body until he was ready.
The zombies were moving in on him fast, but he was ready. He dodged and weaved, avoiding their attacks until he was ready. Gilliam held his arms out in front of him, crossed and with the palms pointing outwards. He closed his eyes again and let his fingers curl halfway. Then with a breath of preparation he reached out to the energy he had gathered and let it all out with a shout, “Ignipotens inardesco!”
((The last spell is akin to flamethrower or firespin. It shoots flames out in all directions; flames that do not hurt allies but do make them hot. Of course... that's only if it works properly.
*yawn* I'm tired. I'll find out if it worked in the morning. Either way, Gilliam would pass out after this spell. He is only level one, after all.)) _________________
The spell sends out a roaring inferno, burning every enemy to ashes. As the smoke dissipates the smell of burning flesh and hair invades their noses. A few seconds after the spell was cast Gilliam suddenly felt weak, and his heart fluttered. Then he slowly sank to the ground, and the last thing he saw was kyle's hair on fire.
When Nozz's head hit the anvil she heard and audible crack and felt it just as loudly. Blood began leaking from her ear. She barely made out that Gilliam had set fire to nearly the whole room before passing out from the concussion and blood loss.
((No one hits there head on an anvil without sustaining some large amount of damage. Especially NOT someone capable of tripping and reflexes being too slow to catch themselves. Nope. Cracked skull. Thanks.))
