the only exception to the rule is.
Introductions or Narration for a story.
the creator of a game will make an introduction explaining the world and the starting scenario and any info that is needed. There will not be a char input during the introduction. this is a narration point for the story you are playing. thus only the person in charge of the game may do this. Narration points can be almost anything. from a dramatic change in the scene to the passing of time when nothing happens at all to anyone.
When that happens anything you were doing must come to a halt and you have to start up again from the point the DM or person in charge lands you. you can explain how you got where you are or out of the problem you were in or anything like that but your char has to explain it and it will not be considered a narration unless the DM or main person does it for you.
